THUNDERBIRDS: THE ANNIVERSARY EPISODES
To celebrate 50 years of Thunderbirds, I was selected by ITV and ITC to produce the first new official episodes of the series since the 1960s. Shot using the original Supermarionation techniques with the help of original crew members, the mini-series premiered at the BFI in 2016. A further UK theatrical release came in 2017, before going onto Britbox / ITVX in 2020. In 2022 it was given a major theatrical release in Japan with a huge press campaign. It went immediately into the top ten with Spiderman: No Way Home.
Born during the 2020 pandemic as a puppet series made in a London flat under lockdown conditions, Nebula-75 ran for 12 episodes and gained a loyal following. In 2022 it sold to Japan where it was dubbed into Japanese for theatrical and television release. In 2025 it was selected for official preservation in the national archives by the British Film Institute.
