In March 2011 I was in Tokyo during the magnitude 9.0 Great North Eastern Earthquake. The ensuing tsunami killed an estimated 25,000 people. I joined a group of volunteers to help the affected area and as a result Fuji Television came to interview me about my experiences. I’d only been at Japanese school for a couple of months, so it was a bit of a challenge!
